Objective: Help students recognize and manage their emotions effectively and develop resilience.

 

Activity: 1: Interactive Lecture on Emotional Intelligence and Resilience (20 mins)

§  Explanation: Define emotional intelligence and resilience.

·         Example: Use stories of successful people who faced setbacks and bounced back stronger.

§  Components of Emotional Intelligence: Self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills.

·         Example: Discuss how recognizing and managing emotions can lead to better relationships and decision-making.

§  Strategies to Build Resilience:

·         Example: Talk about strategies like positive thinking, finding social support, and learning from failures.

 

Activity: 2: Self-Assessment Exercises and Group Discussion (20 mins)

§  Emotional Intelligence Quiz:

·         Example: Provide scenarios and ask participants to identify the appropriate emotional response.

§  Reflection on Personal Strengths and Areas for Growth:

·         Example: Share personal stories of overcoming challenges.

§  Discussion on Stressors and Coping Mechanisms:

·         Example: Discuss common stressors for teenagers (e.g., exams, peer pressure) and healthy coping strategies.

 

Activity:3: Mindfulness Exercises and Guided Meditation (20 mins)

§  Explanation: Introduce mindfulness techniques to reduce stress and improve focus.

 

·         Example: Guide participants through a short mindfulness exercise, focusing on breathing and body awareness.
