EYEMATES FOUNDATION FOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT is a non-profit organization incorporated on February 21, 2025, under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013, Government of India, to facilitate a wide range of social work activities. The idea of EYEMATES was first conceived in 2015 by founder director, Shiju John, While working on a community project in Kerala, he witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by social entrepreneurs in implementing sustainable and effective community initiatives. As a result, EYEMATES was established as a professional social work agency in April 2018 and was registered under the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, in 2020.

EYEMATES collaborates with social work professionals to apply social work values, principles, and techniques in various areas, including helping individuals access essential services, counseling, and psychotherapy; assisting communities and groups in providing or improving social and health services. Additionally, EYEMATES contributes to research and collaborate with other organizations and institutions that share similar objectives, enhancing its impact and fostering innovation in the field of social work.
