Educational Support Programme

EYEMATES FOUNDATION FOR RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT in association with Kottayam District Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (KTDNP+) organized an Educational Support Distribution Programme at the KTDNP+ CSC Office on 27 May 2026 at 10.30 AM. The programme was conducted as part of the joint initiative to support the educational needs of children from families affected by HIV/AIDS and to encourage their continued learning and personal development.

The programme began with a welcome address by Mr. E N Sasidharan, Director, KTDNP+ CSC, Kottayam, who highlighted the importance of community support and collective efforts in ensuring better opportunities for children belonging to vulnerable families.

The event was inaugurated by Ms. Bincy Sebastian, Standing Committee Chairperson, Kottayam Municipality. In her inaugural address, she appreciated the initiatives undertaken by both organizations in supporting students and strengthening social inclusion through community-based programmes. The programme was presided over by Dr. Akhila J S, Medical Officer, ART Centre, Kottayam, who emphasized the need for continuous educational and psychosocial support for children and families affected by HIV/AIDS.

Felicitations were delivered by Mr. Joy Xavier, State Secretary, KSFE Kaithangu; Mr. Najeeb M B, District Secretary, KSFE Kaithangu; Mr. Shiju John, Director & CEO, Eyemates Foundation; Mr. Ousepachan Antony, Technical (Health) Officer, Eyemates Foundation; and Mr. Jose Abraham, Operations Head, Eyemates Foundation. The speakers expressed their support towards initiatives aimed at promoting education, health awareness and social wellbeing among children and families in need.

As part of the programme, educational support materials were distributed to 50 students belonging to the families of KTDNP+ members. The support included essential study materials intended to assist students in their academic journey and reduce the financial burden on their families.

Following the distribution programme, Miss. Dyna Elsa George, Resource Person, conducted an awareness session on the topic “Usage of Mobile Phone and Health”. The session focused on responsible mobile phone usage, screen time management, digital wellbeing and the impact of excessive mobile phone usage on physical and mental health among children and adolescents.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Jiji Thomas, Coordinator, KTDNP+ CSC, Kottayam, who thanked all guests, participants, supporters and volunteers for their valuable presence and contributions towards the successful conduct of the programme.
