LOKAH SAMASTHAH (An NGO Support and Capacity Building Initiative)
The LOKAH SAMASTHAH Programme is a dedicated initiative aimed at strengthening grassroots non-governmental organizations, community-based groups, and emerging social initiatives. The programme focuses on enhancing the institutional capacity, governance standards, and programmatic effectiveness of organizations working at the community level, thereby contributing to more sustainable and impactful social development efforts.
Through this initiative, structured support is provided in areas such as capacity building, organizational mentoring, governance guidance, documentation practices, and programme planning. The programme also facilitates networking opportunities and institutional linkages, enabling smaller organizations to connect with relevant stakeholders, resources, and collaborative platforms. The approach is developmental in nature, ensuring that organizations are empowered to function independently and effectively over the long term.
Support under the programme is delivered through a transparent and need-based process, where the specific requirements of each organization are assessed before designing appropriate interventions. Activities may include training sessions, mentoring support, technical guidance, and facilitation of partnerships. The programme clearly maintains a non-commercial orientation, distinguishing itself from consultancy services, with any applicable fees strictly limited to nominal cost recovery.
The LOKAH SAMASTHAH Programme is guided by principles of transparency, accountability, ethical engagement, and capacity strengthening rather than service dependency. By building the capabilities of grassroots organizations, the initiative aims to improve service delivery, strengthen community institutions, and enhance the overall effectiveness of development interventions at the local level.
Through this programme, the Foundation envisions a collaborative and empowered network of community-based organizations that are better equipped to address social challenges and drive inclusive development.
