Day 1: Understanding Self and Building Emotional Intelligence


Session 1: Welcome and Ice-Breaker Activities (9:00 AM - 10:00 AM)

Objective: Create a comfortable environment and encourage interaction.

Activities:

Introduction to the Workshop and Facilitators (15 mins)

·        Brief overview of the workshop objectives and schedule.

·        Introductions of facilitators and their backgrounds.

Ice-Breaker Games (45 mins)

·       Two Truths and a Lie: Each student states three facts about themselves, one of which is a lie. Others guess the lie.

·        Human Knot: Students stand in a circle, hold hands with two different people, and work together to untangle the knot without letting go.


Session 2: Self-Awareness and Self-Management (10:15 AM - 12:00 PM)

Objective: Help students recognize their emotions and manage them effectively.

Activities:

Interactive Lecture on Emotional Intelligence (30 mins)

·        Definition and importance of emotional intelligence.

·        Components of emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills.

Self-Assessment Exercises (45 mins)

·     Emotional intelligence quiz.

·     Reflection on personal strengths and areas for growth.

Group Discussion on Managing Stress and Anxiety (30 mins)

·     Common stressors for teenagers.

·     Healthy coping mechanisms and relaxation techniques.


Session 3: Building Resilience and Coping Skills (1:00 PM - 2:30 PM)

Objective: Develop skills to handle challenges and setbacks.

Activities:

Workshop on Resilience (45 mins)

·        Definition of resilience.

·        Real-life examples of resilient individuals.

·        Strategies to build resilience.

Role-Playing Scenarios (30 mins)

·        Scenarios depicting common teenage challenges.

·        Students role-play and practice coping strategies.

Mindfulness Exercises and Guided Meditation (15 mins)

·        Basic mindfulness techniques.

·        Short guided meditation session.


Session 4: Reflective Journaling and Wrap-Up (2:45 PM - 4:00 PM)

Objective: Encourage self-reflection and set goals.

Activities:

Guided Journaling Session (30 mins)

·        Prompts to reflect on the day’s learnings.

·        Setting personal goals for emotional growth.

Group Sharing and Feedback (30 mins)

·        Volunteers share their reflections.

·        Group discussion and feedback.
